FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FOR THE COLLECTOR

The art buying process

Upon choosing your favourite piece, please contact our team to secure the work. They will provide you with the final cost and a shipping quote should you require delivery.

Pieces are reserved only for 7 days once the invoice has been sent after which it will be released to the waiting list for sale. The invoice will provide you with all necessary payment information required to facilitate payment and secure your piece.

All artwork is available to view in the Gallery for the duration of the exhibition. Once the exhibition ends, our team immediately prepares the works for dispatch. Works are either taken off the stretchers, rolled and tubed or crated, depending on your shipment request. This process can take up to 14 business days and is dependent on the art being prepared for shipment.

You are provided with tracking information as soon as the works leave our Gallery - This will enable you to view the progress of shipment. Our team will also continue to follow the shipment until it is delivered to you.

Please note, the time frame of delivery is dependent on the travel schedule of shipping agents and customs backlogs worldwide.

Payment options

We accept credit card payments.

Regrettably, this does not include American Express and Diners Club credit cards.

Once payment is received, ownership is transferred to the buyer. Please note, the works purchased may only leave the Gallery post the final day of the exhibition and we endeavour to start shipment one week post exhibition. Our team will be in touch each step of the way with an updated schedule and the latest tracking information.

Shipping of works

The Christopher Moller Gallery ships internationally.

We use a trusted and qualified art shipping agent called Virgo Logistics. Specializing in fine art shipment across the world, we trust the Virgo Logistics team to take care of our works, as they have for years, and safely and successfully ensure the arts’ journey to you.

Will the works be rolled and tubed, crated or framed?

Where possible, we always advise to ship the artwork rolled and tubed as this is the most economical while changing hands across borders.

We absolutely can ship your work already stretched and/or framed in a secure crate. However, please do note, this process requires more time as all crates are custom-built and artworks, individually wrapped prior to being shipped. Furthermore, we ask clients to keep in mind that the size and weight of the crate will have an impact on the final cost.

Tracking information

Our team will share your tracking information via email once it has left the Gallery. You are able to monitor and see the status of delivery as the shipping agent updates the process. Should you require any assistance during the shipment process, please do not hesitate to contact our team.

Can I collect or make use of my own shipping agent?

You are welcome to collect or send your preferred shipping agent to collect the work on a prearranged date with our team. Should you wish to make use of your own shipping and arrangements the Gallery will require your final shipping documentation for our records. Please note that once the art has left the Gallery building, ownership and liability is that of the owner and/or collector.

Should you opt to make use of the Christopher Moller Gallery shipping agent, we will ensure sufficient insurance coverage of the works until the day of delivery.

Interested in Certificates of Authenticity?

All editioned artworks receive a Certificate of Authenticity. With original artworks, this often depends on the specific artist, their applicable style and process. However, certificates can easily be obtained upon request and is a process we’re happy to administer and assist with.
